Walking Tours

Tour Description: You meet at the old Piasa Masonic Temple, the guide explains various methods for spotting a spook, then starts the tour. You take a leisurely stroll through part of downtown Alton and the brick streets of the Christian Hill Neighborhood. You discover why the traumatic events of Alton's past have made it one of the most haunted small towns in the USA. Visit 13 haunted locations including a beautiful garden with a dark secret and a coffeehouse where spirits roam freely. The tour is slightly less than one mile and is conducted at a leisurely pace with two moderate hills. There are three opportunities for you to investigate. Walk-ins accepted as space allows. (Not recommended for delicate folks, motorized carts, or wheelchairs.)

walking.
Our tours are not recommended for people who can not easily
travel stairs, stand or walk for long periods of time.
